Publications
At the core of Green Car Group is its quarterly consumer magazine, Green Car Journal, and its longstanding monthly publication, the Green Car Industry Newsletter. For 17 years, this notable industry newsletter has been read by decision-makers and key insiders at auto companies and suppliers, government regulators and legislators, plus industry leaders and the news media in many countries. Its reputation for excellence and prescience is based on independent, knowledgeable reporting and thorough analysis of all of the trends and issues in the industry.

Green Car Group's key executives have many years of experience as editors and writers in a variety of media, including national magazines, newspapers and online publications. They have launched eight national magazines, worked with international publishing companies, and created many other editorial products including newsletters and white papers for clients.

Marketing and Communications
The GCMC team has worked on projects with many auto manufacturers, components suppliers, and technology companies over the years. These projects included:
  • Managing a demonstration fleet of bi-fuel vehicles for Volvo and crafting a news program around it

  • Writing and delivering presentations at new car model introductions and line-off ceremonies

  • Managing government, community and news media relations for Chevron's MTBE cleanup issues on the Central Coast of California

  • Conceiving, producing and managing automotive environmental technology expos and symposia for the Society of Environmental Journalists' annual conferences

  • Producing web site modules as well as entire sites and crafting news and public relations management strategies around them

  • Conducting research projects to identify markets for bi-fuel and other new vehicle models

Research and Education
The non-profit 501(c)3 Green Car Institute has conducted extensive research and educational work, including definitive studies in 1996 and 2000 on the electric vehicle market that were used by the California Air Resources Board as part of its decision-making process on the state's zero emission vehicle mandate.

The Institute also has conducted public educational programs at events such as Earth Day in elementary through high school, as well as adult school, settings.

Funding for the Institute's programs has come from a combination of corporate and foundation sources as well as from the Green Car Group.
